Week 3: Skills Clinic & Hat Tourney, March 26

Just in case your are very sad about not having any ultimate games this weekend, here is the announcement you have been waiting for. This weekend LUFA's Spring League is holding a Hat Tourney preceded by a quick skills clinic.

Tourney is open to anyone. If you are NOT registered for Spring League, but would like to play, please contact me (christian dot brackbill at gmail dot com). There is plenty of room, I just want to have an idea of how many 'extra' players might come play.

Everything takes place at Seneca Park

Saturday's schedule (subject to slight modifications):

12:00 Noon - 12:45 PM
Skills clinic (aimed at newer players)

12:30 - 12:45 PM
Registration / put name in hat

12:45 - 1:00 PM
Draw teams, announce teams and schedule

1:15 PM
Games begin

We will try to end by 4 to 5 PM - depends on number of teams.

Please bring a hat (and wear it!), a light and a dark shirt, and water and snacks for yourself.

There is no tourney fee but there will be no extras and no rain make-up day.

Questions? Contact me. (christian dot brackbill at gmail dot com)

Success, I think

We had great weather for the tourney Saturday, at least compared to all the rain we've had every other day.

We had 4 randomly drawn teams with 8-9 players per team, and played a round-robin with 3 games time-capped at one hour. (Had to get everyone home before the UofL game.)

A totally stacked team won every game easily... Since Sydney and I drew the names out of a hat, I take full responsibility. (I didn't quite recognize what I'd done until they lined up for the first point of their first game... then I wished I'd been smart enough to put myself on that team. Oh well.)

Spring League continues as scheduled next weekend. Schedule to be posted tomorrow. UofL game isn't until 6:07 PM Eastern Time, so we should be finished in plenty of time.

Still on for tomorrow

Seneca Park, Put your name in by 12:45, and we will be done in time for the UofL game!

Weather looks OK - 53 degrees and 10% chance of rain for mid-afternoon. That is beautiful ultimate weather!!!

Skills clinic starts promptly at noon!

Priorities

Stu,
get your priorities in order.

OK, on second thought, I kind of agree with Stu. And i don't want to have to leave my team(who will be on the brink of ultimate victory) to go see the game.

Oh yeah. one more thought. I am not registered for spring league, but I will be playing tomorrow.

do-well

UofL game 4:40 - hard cap before?

I am not the one in charge, but I would like to have the last game hard capped at 4:15 or 4:30. I say this because I do not want to miss the UofL game that starts at 4:40pm. But, I guess it does depend on the number of teams... so keep me (and other UL fans) updated please.
